JORLCS: Journal of Religious, Literary & Cultural Studies

JORLCS is a scholarly journal that focuses on the intersection of religion, literature, and cultural studies. It aims to explore the dynamic relationship between these three pivotal areas of human experience, shedding light on how religious traditions influence cultural expressions and literary works, while also examining the ways literature and culture reflect and shape religious practices, beliefs, and narratives.

The journal publishes original research, theoretical analyses, and critical reviews that offer insights into how religious contexts inform literary creations across different periods, genres, and cultures. It also emphasizes cultural studies as a means of understanding societal transformations influenced by religious ideologies, practices, and narratives.

"Panah" – Educational Project

In 2016, we took responsibility for supporting a few children for their education and upbringing. These were young children who had lost one or both parents. We committed to their care, education, and upbringing (up to university level). Now, they have grown into young adults. Some of them are studying abroad, some have successfully passed their matriculation exams and are preparing for intermediate, while others are still in junior grades.

Al-Zehra Virtual Institute

Al-Zehra is a virtual educational institute where various workshops and courses will be conducted online for education and training. The purpose of establishing this institute is the education, training, and moral reform of young people—particularly to make them aware of the truths of faith from religious and ethical perspectives. However, the scope of this institute will not remain limited to religious subjects and education alone; it will also organize various seminars, training workshops, and courses on literary and cultural topics.

You will be able to watch these seminars, workshops and talks on Al-Zehra’s channel on YouTube.

Future Project

We envision transforming Al-Zehra into a full-fledged university. Although at present this seems like a dream, our goal is to establish Al-Zehra as an institution that provides education from primary school to university level. Children who cannot afford education will not be charged hefty fees. Instead of focusing solely on degrees, the university will focus on skill development so that students can become productive members of society and financially support themselves and their families.

In pursuit of this vision, over the past ten years we have purchased a small piece of land measuring ten marlas. We hope to soon build our small institution there. This small Al-Zehra center will be the first step toward our bigger dream. And indeed, dreams are meant to be realized.
