ISAR (Intercultural Social & Research, Society) was founded by a few classmates who were pursuing their master’s degrees at the time. The purpose of establishing this trust/society was to serve and educate the youth of Pakistan, particularly in Punjab.
ISAR is actually formed from the first letters of the names Inam, Sha’ban, and Rehan. These letters were arranged to form the word “Isar” (meaning “selflessness” in Urdu), and in English, they stand for Intercultural Social and Research. From its very name—ISAR—it reflects the nature of its work.
Initially, it was registered as a trust, but later, due to certain reasons, its status was changed to that of a society. ISAR is a charitable organization whose core objectives include education and training. From the very beginning, for nearly ten years, we continued this work on a self-help basis without any external assistance.
The Society is registered under societies act 1860.
